World Class Programme
BRITISH FENCING WORLD CLASS PROGRAMME(WCP)
The World Class Programme (WCP) leads, manages and supports athlete development towards podium success at the World Championships and Olympic Games.
The WCP is currently undergoing both a full programme and athlete review as we approach the end of the 2009-2013 cycle. In addition detailed work is being undertaken to put together and present the Project Rio business case to UK Sport looking ahead to the 2013-2017 cycle.
A decision will be made by UK Sport in December as to the level of investment, if any, that they are willing to make to British Fencing for the next Olympiad. As a result, the phase between now and the end of the year is very much a holding phase until we know what the future holds in terms of level of investment and size and scale of any future Programme.
