As of July 2010, British Fencing is a registered National Governing Body with the United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA). This allows British Fencing to endorse applications by Registered Clubs, Home Countries and Affiliated Associations to become Sponsors and to sponsor non-EU nationals to work as fencing coaches in the United Kingdom. More information on what it means to be a registered National Governing Body with the UBKA can be found on their website at http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/employers/points/sponsoringmigrants/employingmigrants/sportsgoverningbodies/ .
If you wish to employ a non-EU national fencing coach using the sportspersons category of Tier 2 and Tier 5 of the UKBA Points Based System you will need to obtain a governing body endorsement from British Fencing before you can apply to the UKBA to be registered as a Sponsor. To obtain this endorsement you will need to complete the Sponsor Application Form below.
There are strict rules about who British Fencing will endorse as sponsors and coaches which have been approved by the UKBA. Before making an application for an endorsement you should ensure that you have read the Endorsement Requirements and Endorsement Procedures (below).
You will note that the requirements refer to foreign coaching qualifications that have been recognised by the relevant Home Country. A list of such qualifications can be found below.
