If you have a complaint about British Fencing, first try to resolve the matter. You can write or telephone to British Fencing at the usual e-mail address or telephone number.
Please give details of what has happened, who was involved and why you are dissatisfied. It would also be helpful to explain what you think should be done to put things right. British Fencing will consider your complaint and respond as soon as possible.
Where a complaint cannot be resolved in this way, you can complain to Gillian Fleming. She is Ombudsman to British Fencing and her role is to consider, investigate and report to the President upon complaints of maladministration by British Fencing. Complaints eligible for consideration include dissatisfaction with the way British Fencing handles the many tasks it performs. However complaints about the technical, competitive or disciplinary side of fencing are not generally within her remit. You can find out more about the rules governing the Ombudsman’s role in the Articles of Association.
Gillian Fleming can be contacted direct by telephone on 01904 640620 or e mail gillianfleming@aol.com Alternatively you can write to her at 7 Arncliffe Mews, York YO10 4EL.
