EUROPEAN CADET SEASON BEGINS

11th September 2015

Hopes high as the 2015-16 Cadet Season begins with British Fencing competing in Hungary

The international cadet season begins this weekend with British fencers taking to the piste in Hungary.  Matthew Dickinson and Devlin Stigant will compete in Budapest over the weekend and hopes will be high for both fencers who are ranked fifth and forty-fourth respectively.

Caitlin Maxwell is one to watch as she starts the season as Europe’s highest ranked female cadet sabre fencer.  Others to watch out for this season are Yasmin Campbell (foil) and Jamie Craze (sabre) who are ranked inside Europe’s top twenty.

British Fencing wish all of our fencers the best of luck for the coming season and have created a new section on this website dedicated to Cadet international fencing.

Clare Halsted, Chair of the International Cadet Management Group, said; “The tough EFC cadet circuit provides invaluable experience for our cadets and their coaches.  I am looking forward to a rewarding and exciting season, for those who achieve excellent results and also all cadets, regardless of their placings, who make the most of every opportunity to develop themselves into more and more successful fencers.”
