Report from Tallinn, Cairo, Sosnowiec & Budapest

Tallinn Senior Women’s Epee World Cup

There were eight British fencers in the field of two hundred and three in Estonia at the weekend.  Hannah Nesbitt, Katrina Smith and Jessica Gundry achieved the best results by making the first preliminary qualifiers.

Cairo Senior Men’s Foil World Cup

Eleven British fencers lined up in the field of one hundred and sixty-eight in Egypt and Richard Kruse won the event beating Italy’s Alessio Foconi in the final.  You can read a full report about Richard’s victory here.

Keith Cook, James-Andrew Davis, Ben Peggs and Kamal Minott lined up for Great Britain in the team event amongst a field of sixteen and finished thirteenth.

Sosnowiec Junior Women’s Sabre World Cup

There were eight British entries into the women’s event in Poland, forming a field of one hundred and fifty-four.  The best result came from Jessica Corby who made the round of thirty-two.

Corby, Maria Chart, Maia Fashokun and Caitlin Maxwell formed the British team lining up in a field of fifteen and finished ninth.

Sosnowiec Junior Men’s Sabre World Cup

The field of one hundred and forty-three at this event included ten entries from Great Britain.  James Edwards and Barnaby Halliwell achieved the best result by making the top thirty-two.

Budapest Cadet Women’s Foil EFC Circuit

Two hundred and five fencers lined up for this event including Imogen Edgecliffe-Johnson who did not make the first round cut.

Budapest Cadet Men’s Epee EFC Circuit

Three British fencers lined up in a field of two hundred and eighty in Hungary for this event.  Ethan Kew got the best results by finishing in the top sixty-four.
