The sabre committee is seeking somebody to take over running the senior rankings. This would be taking over from the good work that Dan Redshaw has done for the last couple of year and would be starting as soon as possible. I will post a Job Description in the next few minutes that will appear on the BFA site in the coming days.
We have a situation where Dan is not able to carry on doing the rankings and there is no obvious person to carry on, so I am putting out an open appeal to all and sundry in the British Fencing community to see if we can find somebody to do this task.
There is an offer of help from a current ranking co-ordinator in getting an individual started and set-up in the role so to speak, but if the incoming person has their own ideas then this is acceptable.
Personally I am very keen to see a move towards automating the entire ranking process and so if there is anybody out there who believes that they are capable of achieving this over the course of the next few years and is able to put the time in to achieve it then I would be very interested in hearing from you.
Please could all applications be submitted by is 31st December please. If the right person approaches me before then I will appoint them and put notices everywhere that the post has been filled.
Julian Rose
Chair Sabre Committee
