A reminder that nominations are open for the British Fencing Community Awards 2023-24 and a closer look at the Outstanding Contribution by a Referee award.
This week, we will be delving into the Outstanding Contribution by a Referee award and what criteria a nominee should meet.
The annual British Fencing Community Awards recognise the best of our clubs, coaches, fencers, and volunteers and their contribution to fencing. Due it being an Olympic and Paralympic year, this awards period will cover the 1st September 2023 to the 7th September 2024 to recognise this.
BF members (all membership types) can nominate members of the community via the online nomination form. From the nominations, a shortlist of nominees will be produced. An independent panel will then select the winners of the BF Awards 2023-24.
The Outstanding Contribution by a Referee award celebrates referees who:
Luke Deamer won the Outstanding Contribution by a Referee award for 2022-23.
“I’m delighted to win this award! I really enjoy refereeing with all my friends and colleagues, both here and around the world. Thank you to British Fencing and all those that continue to help me develop.” said Luke, after being awarded.
