Pat Aiyenuro, President of British Fencing (BF), organised a workshop for the newly-established Equality and Diversity Commission of the European Fencing Confederation (EFC).
The workshop, which took place in London at the weekend, was attended by the President of the EFC, Pascal Tesch, and other Commission members. The meeting provided an opportunity for the Commission members to work together on the EFC’s Equality and Diversity strategy, with clear objectives for the four years ahead.
Pat Aiyenuro has been given the mandate to lead the group and is very excited to work with “a passionate and knowledgeable group of individuals who have a good understanding of Equality and Diversity”.
President Pascal Tesch commented that he was “impressed by the group’s professionalism in setting objectives and Key Performance Indicators”, and he expressed his “great optimism about the future”.
Hilary Philbin (EFC Comex member and BF International Relations Director) attended the official dinner, where she was pleased to hear such positive feedback from all of the participants.
The Commission members present were Annalisa Avancini (Italy), Aida Vengale (Lithuania), Vemndela Runold (Sweden) and Varpu Wiens (Finland). Unfortunately, Meirav Ofri Hershkovich (Israel) was unable to attend the workshop on this occasion, but we look forward to working with her in the future.
Pat Aiyenuro would like to thank Sara Pantuliano (BF Chair), Georgina Usher (BF CEO), Virginia Bailey (BF Participation Director) and Kate Daykin for all of their support during the event.
