Coaches at the Vale Millennium Fencing Club are volunteers and do not charge for private tuition. Charges are made to cover the cost of hiring the venue space only.

My Coaching Philosophy
As a coach at the Vale Fencing Club I like to engender a love of the sport. For me, it's not all about serious training: I love it when our fencers win, but we're just as enthusiastic about our groups that meet for fun.
I tailor sessions to the individual needs, ages and abilities of each person attending. As a former teacher I believe in being firm but fair and always willing to listen and adapt, in keeping the "FUN" in the "FUNdementals of Fencing": not just teaching and coaching technique and tactics but also the roles of all who participate in our fencing family, Welfare officers, Referees, DT, Armourers and the important people - themselves and their families.
