GBR CALENDAR UPDATES – EVENT & SEASON CLARIFICATIONS

With the U14 Epee BRC in Moulton and the EFC U14 Festival in Istanbul being held on the same weekend in June 2025, BF would like to clarify the impact of these events on points and rankings.

The U14 Epee BRC event, to be held in Moulton on the weekend of June 28th and 29th, will count only for the 2025/26 season and will serve as the first ranking event of the U14 Epee calendar for the new season. Seeding for this event will be determined using the U14 BF ranking, excluding fencers who have transitioned to the U17 (Cadet) category.

The EFC U14 Festival in Istanbul, to be held the same weekend, will mark the final event of the 2024/25 season. Ranking points earned at this event will contribute to end-of-season rankings, ensuring a conclusive and accurate assessment for the season’s close.

Age Group Transitions & Carry-Forward Calculations

• Fencers remaining in the U14 category for the 2025/26 season will carry forward 35% of their end-of-season ranking.
• Fencers moving to the U17 (Cadet) category who meet the criteria outlined in the Ranking Scheme will receive their U14 Transition Bonus. This bonus will be added to their Cadet ranking on July 15th and will be officially confirmed in the GBR Calendars.

This update ensures a seamless transition between seasons, providing clarity for fencers and their rankings moving forward.

BF intends to publish the updated GBR calendars in the coming weeks, whilst we are waiting clarifications from the EFC.
