HUGGINS RE-ELECTED TO FIE SEMI COMMISSION

Janet Huggins has rejoined the SEMI Commission following the resignation of the FIE SEMI President.

Huggins as SEMI delegate at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The duties of the FIE SEMI (Electronic Signalling Equipment and Installations) Commission includes:

  • Responsibility for any studies on the safety of the equipment;
  • Examining any suggestions or proposals relating to the equipment and present a report on these proposals to the Executive Committee;
  • Supervising the control of the fencers’ equipment;
  • Approving all of the fencing equipment to be used at for official competitions and to lay down the testing procedure for such equipment.

  • Paris 2024 Olympics – SEMI delegate.

Janet said:

“I am delighted to be rejoining the SEMI Commission after an absence of six months and hope to continue to fulfil the duties of my membership of the Commission.”

Pat Aiyenuro, BF President, added:

“Janet brings an unparalleled wealth of experience to the SEMI Commission, and is held in high regard across the fencing world. Congratulations to Janet on this appointment.”
