Referees that wish to become L1 and 2 examiners should hold a weapon specific referee qualification at that level or above and will be consistently active as a referee on the domestic circuit. they will then need to approach their Home Country Association who will inform BF.
Once accepted onto the register those holding L1&2 will be able to assist a more senior examiner but not examine as an independent examiner. BF will supply the newly appointed examiners with an “examiner’s pack” of documentation for use when running a referee exam.
Level 3 are appointed by consultation between the Home Country lead examiner and BF following nomination from the home country and level 4 examiners are directly appointed by BF.
All appointments are for a 3-year tenure and subject to an activity and competency review throughout this period. BF are committed to running regular examiners seminars to ensure that examiners are maintaining their level of competency.
