UPDATE FOR ATHLETES ACCEPTING INVITATIONS ON SPORT:80

This is an update on actions that athletes are required to take when they have been invited to participate in a competition via Sport:80.

Due to changes within the Sport:80 platform, athletes are now required to accept their invitations to competitions by clicking the link to accept their place in the invitation email. You will no longer be able to accept your place in the ‘Trips’ tab on Sport:80, you must accept your place using the email link. You will need to be logged in to your Sport:80 account using the email address associated with the primary contact in order to do this. Please do check on Sport:80 as soon as you can to see who the primary account holder is and who can accept or decline a place.

Here are the instructions on what you will need to do to accept or decline your place on a trip.

 

1. When you receive your invitation email, click the ‘Accept’ button at the bottom of the email if you wish to accept your place on the trip. This will open a tab in your browser asking you to confirm your acceptance, like this:

If you wish to decline your place, click the ‘decline’ button and follow the instructions on screen.

2. By clicking ‘Yes’ you will be brought to the screen below, which will prompt you to enter your details and pay the necessary fees by clicking ‘Enter now.’ 

3. If you do not use the link in the email, the below will appear next to the event on Sport:80 and it will show as ‘Ineligible.’

Once an invitation has been issued via Sport:80, you will have 96 hours from the time the invitation was issued to accept or decline or place. You will be sent automatic reminders about the invitation during this period, and if you fail to respond to the invitation within this window your place will be automatically declined and a reserve will be invited to take up the place.

We recommend that you have the following two email addresses added to your safe senders list to ensure that all emails from Sport:80 and Smartsheet are safely delivered to your inbox: [email protected] and [email protected].
