PARA FENCING ZONE

Welcome to our GBR Para Fencing Zone page. Please scroll down for links to para fencing specific information.

Follow the merger with British Disability Fencing on 1st April 2022 British Fencing was transferred responsibility for para fencing in the UK. There is a lot of work currently underway as we integrate para fencing into all aspects of the work that we do, from recreational participation to GBR representation.

Through the BF Athlete Development Programme, para fencing will be incorporated into the Sport England funded stages of the pathway. UK Sport currently funds the UK Sports Institute (UKSI) to deliver the wheelchair fencing World Class Programme (WCP). Therefore delivery of the WCP falls outside the scope of the responsibilities of BF.

Since July 2023 the ADP has integrated wheelchair fencing into its camps alongside standing fencing; for more information, or to sign up to the next ADP camp, please use the Para Fencing Training page.

If you would like to suggest content for this zone or you have any questions about any aspect of disability fencing, including offering wheelchair fencing at your club or starting wheelchair fencing as a fencer please complete this form.

For those members of our community that were involved with BDF we are running a series of Community Discussion Events for athletes and workforce as BF incorporates para fencing into all aspects of what we do.
