New for 2026, bring a unique and dynamic sport to your leisure centre with BF’s Leisure Partner Programme!
What is it?
BF has designed an offer specifically for operators that want to have a wider impact on individuals and communities. We’re helping leisure centres across the country to experience the transformative sport of fencing.
By bringing fencing to your centre, you can attract participants who wouldn’t ordinarily visit. What’s more, fencing is proven to increase participants’ physical and mental health. Your leisure centre can widen its offer to welcome even more people from the local community.
Why fencing?
- Increase social impact, increase social revenue: Fencing is the stepping stone to building the confidence needed to engage in physical activity. This will encourage a greater and more diverse participation in your leisure centre programmes.
- Grow your revenue: By putting on new courses, you’ll attract new members, growing opportunities for people to participate in your centre’s activities.
- Secure more contracts: By adding fencing – a sport not normally offered in leisure centres – to your activities, you’ll set your organisation apart from competitors and stand out from the crowd.
Regardless of age, ethnicity, background, or accessibility requirements, we have something to suit everyone.
- Background: Deep-rooted inequalities in sport mean that people who are ethnically and culturally diverse are less likely to be physically active. Due to its level playing field and choice of uniform, fencing is an ideal way to get active.
- Age: Fencing is for everyone, regardless of age. There have even been fencers as old as 90! Seated fencing is also a brilliant activity for those with mobility issues.
- Accessibility: For fencers who can’t participate standing up, seated fencing is a great alternative, with more emphasis on blade work. Neurodiverse participants who may not enjoy more mainstream sports are often drawn to the creativity of fencing.
