INTRODUCTION

GBR major events include the European and World Championships for Cadet, Junior, U23 (Euros only), Senior and Para athletes, along with the World University Games, European Games, Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

The first major event of each season is usually the Cadet and Junior European Championships in February, with the Senior World Championships typically concluding the season in July. The Senior Worlds does not take place during Summer Olympic years. Para Fencing European and World Championships are held in alternate years.

These events are key milestones for athletes on the GBR Pathway.
All coaches, athletes and parents aiming for GBR representation at a major event must read the GBR Guide to a Major Event.

BF manages all major event delegations, sometimes in partnership with organisations including BUCS and TeamGB. Parents and athletes must not make independent travel or logistical arrangements without consulting BF.

Information on each event will be updated regularly as details are provided by the Local Organising Committee (LOC).
