VOLUNTARY NATIONAL WEAPON MANAGERS ANNOUNCED

10th June 2013

Aiyenuro & Willis to join development team

British Fencing is pleased to announce the appointments of Patricia Aiyenuro and Jon Willis to the positions of Voluntary Weapons Managers for sabre and epee respectively.  Their roles will be to work with the World Class Programme in the organisation and management of non World Class Programme funded squads and athletes.

Alex Newton, Performance Director said; "I am delighted that we have appointed Pat and Jon in to these new positions.  Working closely alongside the World Class Programme I know that they will both provide invaluable help and assistance to those athletes not currently part of the Programme but who aspire to be the best in the world."

Both Aiyenuro and Willis will now work closely with the Programme to ensure that the activity and competition schedule aligns with the World Class Programme at both a Podium Potential and Talent level.  The Weapon Managers will assist and support sabre and epee fencers who are looking to progress their own performances with the aim of transitioning on the World Class Programme as and when performances and resources allow.  In addition to the two Weapon Manager posts, Lindsay Bottoms will be supporting Jon in Epee.
