Season starts with Foil World Cups in Cancun and San Francisco

The senior international season begins next weekend (17-19^th October) with events taking place in Cancun and San Francisco.

The world’s top women’s foilists will begin proceedings with a World Cup in Cancun, Mexico.  Lisa McKenzie and Natalia Sheppard will be representing Great Britain’s at this competition.  To find out more about this event and find results please visit the official event website.

Elsewhere the men’s foil international season kicks off with a World Cup in San Francisco, USA.  Kristjan Archer, Keith Cook, James Davis, Laurence Halsted, Richard Kruse, Rhys Melia, Marcus Mepstead, Ben Peggs, Amol Rattan and Alex Tofalides will all compete for Great Britain.  To find out more about this event and find results please visit the official event website.

Speaking ahead of the start of the season, British Fencing’s Performance Director, Alex Newton said: “We are all looking forward to the start of the new season.  The squad have all been training hard in preparation and I am sure that we will see improved performances across the whole squad over the coming year.”
