Explanation of initial seeding for the Junior Nationals and confirmation that the Junior Nationals do not count for Cadet Ranking points.
The Cadet (U17) and Junior (U20) National Championships is taking place this weekend (13-14th September 2025). Further information about the event can be found on the Event Webpage.
This announcement is to confirm that:
1. Seedings for Junior Event
The published rankings currently visible on the website do not include the A events held on 6–7 September 2025. However, last season’s A events remain included, as they have not yet rolled off the ranking cycle.
When the online rankings were due to be re-published after last weekend, a technical error prevented us from doing so. This technical error could not be resolved in time for this weekend’s competition.
As there were fencers that had competed at their first junior event last weekend we wanted to use rankings based on most recent competitions, this being a better reflection of current seeding.
BF staff working with the volunteer BF Ranking Manager opted to manually compile the updated rankings using verified data. These manually created lists reflect the correct application of the points table and have been used for the current Championships.
The csv files used can be found here (JWE JWS JWF JMS JMF JME) and the website will be updated and a further announcement made as soon as the technical issue can be resolved.
2. Ranking Points
