This year’s British Senior and Para National Fencing Championships took place in Sheffield, accompanied by the GB Cup. A round-up of the weekend, including links to results, photos, and videos.
The British Senior and Para Fencing National Championships take place annually, this year falling on the 25th-26th April. They took place at the EIS Sheffield, the venue of many BF Championship events. The GB Cup (DEU Championships), also a staple of the BF events portfolio, took place on the Sunday.
The Senior National Championships include an individual event, taking place on the Saturday, as well as a team event on the Saturday. The top-ranked fencers in the UK who are eligible to compete for GBR are invited to the Individual Championships. For the team event, clubs across the country can enter fencers – including those who aren’t eligible to compete for GBR – for the chance to qualify a team for the European Cup of Club Champions.
The Para Fencing National Championships were split across both days, with epee on Saturday and foil and sabre on Sunday. Once again, the event was open to fencers eligible to compete for GBR, as well as those who are classified domestically or internationally.
The GB Cup (DEU Championships) was open to fencers listed on the intermediate rankings and who hold a D, E or U rating. The eligibility criteria was updated for 2026, and more info can be found here. The event provided an opportunity for local and regional fencers to fence in a British Championship event. The event is part of the BF Ratings Scheme, which can be found here.
We’d like to thank our referees, DT, volunteers, armoury, and our partners at Leon Paul for supporting the event.
Congratulations to our 2026 National Champions and GB Cup winners:
