5 NATIONS U18 COMPETITION

British Fencing is aware that the 1st/2nd September GBR development camp clashes with the 5 Nations U18 competition.

Following discussion with the Home Country Associations it is agreed and expected that fencers with aspirations to be selected to represent GBR in a Team Event (i.e. Junior World Cup teams and the Cadet and Junior European and World Championships) will attend the GBR development camp.

For athletes who are not seeking GBR Team Event selection, attending the 5 Nations will not affect selection for GBR at EFC Cadet events and selection for the Individual event at FIE Junior World Cups.  Selection for Junior team events will be as per the British Fencing Policies which can be found here: https://www.britishfencing.com/gbr-fencing/gbr-junior/gbr-junior-selection-policies-and-procedures/

Athletes and coaches are directed to points:

5.2.10 To be eligible for Nominated Team Event selection fencers must attend the September GBR Squad Development Camp unless they have received an authorised exemption from the ADT.

5.3. Euros and Worlds

12. Fencers must attend the September GBR Squad Development Camp and the nominated pre- Euros GBR Squad Development Camps, unless they have received an authorised exemption from the ADT.
