British Fencing, the National Governing Body for Fencing, is now seeking to appoint a Assistant Talent Pathway Manager (ATPM), to join the Talent Pathway team.

This role is particularly suited to an experienced coach who wishes to be involved in the documentation and operation of a national talent development programme.

The Assistant Talent Pathway Manager will provide support to the Talent Pathway team and Talent Development Centres (TDCs).  The main purpose of the post is to lead the documentation of Talent Pathway activity and support the development of talent coaches and personal coaches involved with the Talent Pathway. 

Supporting the Talent Pathway Manager, they will be responsible for supporting the Talent Pathway philosophy, culture and values and will help to support an environment of continuous improvement which develops independent, robust and resilient athletes.

It’s an exciting time to join our Talent Pathway Team as we develop our Talent Pathway.  By becoming an important member of our Talent Pathway Team you will be playing a key role in shaping the future of our sport at a crucial stage in the development of our young fencers.

The role is offered on a contract basis and there is an expectation of flexibility in working hours which will include weekend working.  

The successful candidate should have excellent coaching and written communication skills. Experience of coach development and the latest coaching practice is crucial to this post.

The position is based at our Elite Training Centre in Hendon, London, although it is expected that some of the work could be completed via home working or an alternative office location. Travel – both nationally and internationally is required to fulfil the duties of this post.

This is a profession which is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check will be required.
