Following the announcement that the British Fencing Championships 2017 will be held on Saturday 22^nd and Sunday 23^rd April 2017 at SportsDock, University of East London, we would like to share some further details on the competition.

Over the last few weeks, hotel costs in the local area around the venue have significantly increased, particularly on the Saturday night. In response to the challenges faced by members in booking hotels we are making some changes to the format to significantly reduce the number of fencers who are required to stay two nights to compete.

Day 1 will now feature Men’s Foil, Men’s Sabre and Women’s Epee from poules to Gala Final and Men’s Epee and Women’s Foil from poules to L16. Day 2 will feature Men’s Epee and Women’s Foil from L16 to Gala Final and Women’s Sabre from poules to Gala Final. Please note that there will be no cut from the poules, so all fencers will progress to the Direct Elimination rounds. Please check the event page for updated entry information.
