BRITISH OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2023: DATES CONFIRMED

The British Open Championships 2023 and GB Cup will take place 3-4th June 2023, at EIS, Sheffield.

Further to the previous announcement, the 2023 season will see a pilot with two Senior British Championships weekends being held per season.

The British Open Championships 2023 will take place on 3-4th June 2023, at EIS (English Institute of Sport), Sheffield, alongside the 2023 GB Cup.

This is a new British Championships, for all Compete licensed members of British Fencing, including those not eligible to compete for GBR. This event will also include a ‘B’ Championships, with fencers eliminated from the poule stage of the competition being promoted to the B Tableau and then competing for the British B Championships on the same day. Sitting before the Senior Euros and Worlds, this will provide a competitive opportunity for athletes preparing for major events, and for the rest of the membership an ‘end of season’ Championships, before the summer break.

Further information on the 2023 British Open Championships and GB Cup will be published in early 2023.

As a reminder the Senior British Individual and British Club Team Championships (The ‘Nationals’) weekend will be held on 15-16th April, 2023 as announced here.
