The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of John Boumphrey as Chair of the BF Disciplinary and Grievance Panels with effect from today (27 November 2012). He replaces Teddy Bourne, who is stepping down from this role. The Board wishes to place on record its gratitude to Teddy for doing a great job for British Fencing and the sport.
John Boumphrey is a practising barrister of twenty years’ standing, based in Leeds. He has a wide ranging practice in criminal and civil law, including regulatory matters, and also has experience as the Independent Person for Standards for a local authority and as a member of the West Yorkshire Criminal Justice Board Equality and Diversity Committee. John fences epee, and is a former National Junior Epee Champion and won bronze at the Commonwealth Fencing Championships in 1990.
