The event takes place annually and is open only to those eligible to be selected for GBR. A highlight in the U14 domestic competition series, the BRC A was an opportunity for fencers to gain valuable ranking points – the second highest ranking points at a domestic event. The BRC A therefore plays a significant role in shaping selection outcomes.
Moreover, BRC A events are designed to replicate the competitive experience of an international competition where the focus is about learning to perform on the occasion. For young athletes, their parents, and coaches, this gives a domestic ground to experience a major event and prepare for future competitions. BF Head of Talent Sarah Jones was also present at the event, with parents and fencers being able to discuss their GBR Pathway potential with her.
Congratulations to the winners of the U14 BRC A Epee & Sabre:
U14 BRC A Women’s Epee: Moyi Zhou (Dream Fencing Academy)
U14 BRC A Mixed/Men’s: Jonathan Macdonald (Forth Valley Fencing Club)
U14 BRC A Mixed/Men’s Sabre: Bennett Joseph (Paul Davis Fencing Academy)
U14 BRC A Women’s Sabre: Sophia Chiesa (Leon Paul Project)
