Entries for the Beazley Trophy closed on Sunday. Typically in a post-Olympic year entries for World Cup and Grand Prix events go down. This is not the case for the Beazley Trophy with 136 individual entries from 26 countries all over the globe confirmed. A British contingent of 12 fencers will take part in the event. There are also 18 teams entered for the event on Sunday which is one more than last year. (Correct at the time of publishing.)
Vassiliki Vougiouka (GRE) is back to defend the title she won in 2012 and is joined by Olympic bronze medallist Olga Kharlan and three time Olympic medallist, Mariel Zagunis, amongst many others from the top of the women’s sabre ranking list.
