New Environmental Sustainability Action Group – Expressions of Interest Deadline November 15th, 2022

BF seeks expressions of interest from members of the fencing community to form a new BF Environmental Sustainability Action Group. The deadline is 15th November 2022.

British Fencing is proposing to create a new Environmental Sustainability Action Group, to support the work of the Executive Team as they implement BFs Environmental Sustainability Policy.

  1. To oversee implementation of the Environmental Sustainability Policy – through contributing to the creation and management of an Environmental Sustainability Plan
  2. To advise on improvements to the BF Environmental Sustainability Policy
  3. To promote and support education, training and the dissemination of information to the fencing community to help reduce the impact of fencing activities on the environment
  4. To provide a forum for discussion and communication between members of the fencing community with an interest in environmental sustainability
  5. Ensure BF demonstrates consistency and best practice in relation to environmental sustainability.

The Action group is expected to meet 3-4 times a year, online or face to face, and be involved in additional activities between these meetings.

This Action Group will have directly delegated authority from the CEO.

The Action Group will be chaired by a Board appointed BF Environmental Sustainability Champion. The Action Group will consist of:

  • BF Environmental Sustainability Champion (Chair)
  • 1 BF Board Director,
  • 1 BF executive team member
  • 1 representative of BF’s Official Supplier of Fencing Equipment, Leon Paul.
  • plus up to 5 members from the fencing community
