The Epée Club Charitable Fund was established in 2016 with the sole aim of promoting the development of épée within Great Britain. Its funding comes from a variety of generous donors who wish to see GB épéeists in podium places at major international events. The Fund is a registered Charity and overseen by the British Epée Development Committee –a group outside of British Fencing but closely linked to it – and three Trustees from The Epée Club. Over the past few years, the Charity has been supporting British Fencing by funding the Men’s and Women’s team entries to Epée World Cups and the European Epée Championships.

The Epée Club Charity has recently been in discussion with the BF Development Officer, Steve Kemp, the BF Epée Coordinator (Marie Pauline Mackinnon) and the BF Lead Epée Coach (John Rees) to set a budget for the 2020 season, together with achievable goals and targets.

It is therefore with great pleasure that the Trustees can now announce the sum of £15,000.00 has been allocated for 2020 to support a range of initiatives including the provision of ADP coaches to travel with Cadet and Junior teams, team entries for Senior World Cups, squad training sessions with high-quality épée coaches and an épée coach development course in the Spring of 2020.

It is hoped that this funding will help to reinvigorate the further development of épée in Great Britain over the next year and beyond by bringing forward more potential épée champions in the decade to come.

The Epée Club Charitable Fund welcomes donations from anyone whether they are fencers, parents, clubs, and coaches etc who may be generous enough to help our GBR épéeists. Please remember that this Fund is dedicated solely to help épéeists and is administered at nil cost by other senior épéeists. All monies raised go directly to providing our teams with the opportunity to train, improve their performance and succeed on the international stage.
