Nomination and Selection Process

Nominations for the European Games were made by a Board approved Nominations Panel in accordance with the published policy (which can be found alongside the other current policies here).

There were two independent observers present, one from the BF Board and one from the British Olympic Association (BOA).

Nominations by the Panel for the Europeans Games ware based on individual athletes or teams meeting the qualification standards (as were summarised here in September 2022, and incorporated into the final published policy here).  Discretionary would only be used to fulfil a team of four, if three fencers had met the qualification standard. Nominations were passed to the BOA for selection.
