National Development Manager, Ben Campion said; “It’s fantastic that British Fencing are being asked to provide taster sessions for London 2012 sponsors.  It’s even better that we delivered an exceptional event.”

In January this year British Fencing were asked to deliver a taster session in Malaga, Spain for London 2012 sponsor, BMW.  This coincided with the launch of their brand new 3-series car where journalists from all over the UK were given an opportunity to test out the vehicle.

Part of the three day event involved BMW showcasing their involvement in 2012 and they called upon British Fencing to deliver a series of introductory fencing lessons.  Jack Boteler and Katie Dolan were asked to fulfil this task.  Nick Payne and Bridie Lloyd were selected to deliver this event and hopped on a chartered flight from a private airport to Malaga.

Leaving the cold weather behind them Nick and Bridie delivered a number of taster sessions to the motoring journalists at a beautiful hotel and BMW were delighted with the results.

Graham Biggs, BMW’s Corporate Communications Director, said, “I know that the media will remember for a very long time, as will I, those battles in the courtyard.  Superb!”

Speaking after the event, Payne said, “What a fantastic location and what a memorble occasion.  I’m so pleased that British Fencing asked me to deliver this event.  We had a great time and were very well looked after.”

British Fencing’s Event Coordinator, Katie Dolan, added, “The feedback has been phenominal.  Jack Boteler and I were presented with out first ever international event and I couldn’t be more pleased with the result.”

National Development Manager, Ben Campion, said, “The Events Team has only been in place for a short space of time but already they are paying for themsleves which is great news for our sport.  It’s fantastic that British Fencing are being asked to provide taster sessions for 2012 sponsors.  It’s even better that we delivered an exceptional event.”

As we approach the Games British Fencing is keen to explore other opportunities to generate revenue through running events.  Please contact [email protected] if you have a requirement.
