HEAR HOW BF AFFILIATED CLUBS HAVE BECOME INVOLVED IN THE GB LEAGUE

Rob Johnson of Great Yarmouth and Waveney Fencing Club chats with BF about the club’s GB League experience so far!

Following a recent conversation with Sophie DeVooght, Media and Communications Manager around some frequently asked questions on the GB League, Hannah Gavin, Development Officer – Clubs and Regions (England), and Evie Millar, Events Administrator spoke with Rob Johnson of Great Yarmouth and Waveney Fencing Club to chat about the club’s GB League experiences.

Within the conversation, Rob talks about why Great Yarmouth and Waveney Fencing Club wanted to get involved and how they have found their experience so far. With positive feedback from the fixtures including that the GB League is “a great opportunity to fence different people and different weapons”.

Rob details how they have used GB League to grow the local club network with Great Yarmouth and Waveney Club, Norfolk Fencing Club and UEA Fencing Club all involved, rotating hosting GB League Fixtures in the different formats and weapons. Rob tells Hannah and Evie that growing the network has “added a new dynamic” to the fixtures. Hannah reflects that its now more important than ever to seek out new club partnerships as well as strengthening new ones.
