The Board of British Fencing invites applications for the voluntary post of Independent Director.

British Fencing is the governing body for the Olympic sport of fencing in Great Britain.  The Board has ambitious plans which include increasing the number of people who fence, winning medals and to be the leading fencing nation, by 2024.  We are now seeking an outstanding individual with senior level business experience who can contribute to effective corporate and strategic governance. Background in marketing or sponsorship could be an advantage.

The time commitment for this post is a minimum of two days per month.  This will comprise a mixture of set commitments (such as a monthly Board meeting and committee meetings) and more flexible arrangements for ad hoc events, reading and preparation.  A degree of flexibility will be required and some time commitment will be during the evening/weekend.

To apply please send your CV, with a short statement on why you would be a good fit, to Kim Robinson at [email protected]

The closing date for applications is Tuesday, 3 June (no later than 5pm).

British Fencing is an Equal Opportunities employer.  This appointment will be made by the Board and will be confirmed by the membership at the next General Meeting in autumn 2014.
