INDEPENDENT DIRECTORS for BRITISH FENCING BOARD

The Board of British Fencing (BF) invites applications for the voluntary post of Independent Director.

British Fencing is the governing body for the Olympic sport of fencing in Great Britain. We seek two independent Directors, to join the BF Board, currently of ten; eight members of the Board were elected by the BF membership, the other two are the Chair (independent, appointed by the Board) and an “Additional Director” (also appointed by the Board).  Representatives of the four Home Countries and of our athletes also attend BF Board meetings.

In these important appointments the Board seeks men or women who will share our commitment to growing the numbers of people who fence, to winning medals and achieving our ambitious goals for 2024 – notably to be the world’s leading fencing nation.  Specifically, we are looking for individuals with strategic sporting knowledge/experience and/or who can help secure new income for BF and the sport.

To apply for the post, please send your CV, with comments on your suitability to join the British Fencing Board, to the BF Head Office marked for Kim’s attention by 30 August latest.

British Fencing is an Equal Opportunities employer.  This is an open competition for Independent Director posts.  The appointments will be made by the Board, to be confirmed by the membership at the next General Meeting.
