Three World Cups and One Satellite to follow this weekend

The senior international season resumes this weekend with a men’s foil World Cup in Russia, a men’s sabre World Cup in Spain, a women’s sabre World Cup in China and a men’s and women’s satellite event in Croatia. 

Senior Men’s Foil – St. Petersburg World Cup

The four British fencers selected to compete for TeamGB at this year’s Olympic Games – James Davis, Laurence Halsted, Richard Kruse and Marcus Mepstead – will be joined by Ben Peggs at this event in Russia.  The poule stage for the individual tournament will start at 9am (BST) on Friday with the round of 64 starting at 8am (BST) on Saturday.  The team event is scheduled to start at 7am (BST) on Sunday.

Senior Men’s Sabre – Madrid World Cup

Harry Boteler, Will Deary, James Honeybone, Nicholas Howes, Curtis Miller, James Potter, Stephen Rocks, Kirk Slankard and Jonathan Webb will represent Great Britain in the individual event in Spain at the weekend.  The poule stage for the individual tournament will start at 10am (BST) on Friday with the round of 64 starting at 9am (BST) on Saturday.  The team event is scheduled to start at 9am (BST) on Sunday.

Senior Women’s Sabre – Foshan World Cup

There are no British entries for this event.  The poule stage for the individual tournament will start at 2am (BST) on Friday with the round of 64 starting at 2am (BST) on Saturday.  The team event is scheduled to start at 2am (BST) on Sunday.

Senior Men’s & Women’s Epee – Split Satellite

Alexander Edwards will fence for Great Britain in men’s event which takes place on Saturday, starting at 8am (BST).  The women’s event starts at 11am (BST) and includes Sadie Greetham, Jessica Gundry, Stella Lancey and Rebecca Mayle from Great Britain.  The finals for both events are scheduled for 5pm (BST) on Saturday.
