Women’s Epee World Cup – Dubai

Two British fencers lined up in a field of one hundred and eighty-nine in Dubai at the weekend.  Victoria Hide achieved the best result making the first preliminary knockout stage.

Men’s Foil World Cup – St. Petersburg

Seven British fencers lined up in the field of one hundred and ninety-one for the individual event and Richard Kruse achieved the best result by making the round of 32.

Ben Peggs, James-Andrew Davis, Marcus Mepstead and Dominic De Almeida (reserve) represented Great Britain in the team event.  A bye through the round of 32 was followed by a match against Germany.  The German’s had to withdraw due to injury with Britain leading 18-11.  The British team went on to lose 45-37 to the USA before beating Japan and losing to Korea to finish sixth.
