Following the closure of the World Class Programme the role of the Weapon Manager has been reviewed and updated so that it is consistent across all three weapons and reflects the volunteer structure in place to support Senior athletes.

This review resulted in a significant increase in the responsibilities for the Foil Weapon Manager as these were previously and predominantly owned by the WCP.

Therefore, moving forwards the role of Weapon Manager (Foil) will now be shared between two members of the existing Foil Senior Selection Panel – Sophie Troiano and Johnny Davis.

Both Sophie and Johnny will be senior selectors with Sophie overseeing selections.

Johnny will take the lead on implementing performance strategy, athlete communication and welfare.

Jon Willis will continue in his current role as Weapon Manager (Epee) and Pat Ayenuro as Weapon Manager (Sabre).

Our thanks go to this team of experienced volunteers who we are confident will be able to provide invaluable help and support to our Senior GB athletes as they look towards Tokyo and beyond.
