Sheffield continues great season with a medal in Plovdiv
Cadet Women’s Epee – European Championships 2017
Laura Sheffield picked up a bronze medal on day three of the Cadet & Junior European Championships to continue a great season.
Sheffield won all of her six first round matches and earned a bye through the round of 64. She then beat Pawlowska (POL) 15-10, Lentz (GER) 15-13, Coufalova (CZE) 15-8 and Garneri (FRA) 15-12 to secure a place in the medal matches. In the semi-finals she faced Barbara Brych (POL) and lost 15-11.
Brych went on to secure the title, beating Eszter Muhari (HUN) in the final. Sheffield shard the bronze medal position with Emilia Rossatti (ITA).
Louis Avery made the round of 32, Jasmine Heaps made the 64 and Alexandra Powell was eliminated in the round of 128.
