Cost: £195.00 For coaching course only. Payment to be made to British Fencing (see below).
£215.00 for Coaching course and First Aid course (British Fencing and South East Regional members only). £20.00 deposit to be paid in advance to South East Region (see below).
£270.00 for Coaching course and First Aid course (Non British Fencing and non South East Regional members). £20.00 deposit to be paid in advance to South East Region (see below).
Includes BFA registration and Course Manual. Please note there is no Safeguarding and Protecting Children Course available. Holding a recent First Aid and Safeguarding and Protecting of Children are requirements of registration on the coach register. Please contact Charlie Miller at [email protected] who will assist you to source an appropriate course. Certificates will not be issued until all registration requires have been met.
Entry Level Requirement. 1 year fencing experience. If you have been teaching Go Fence or Mini-fence and would like to make a transition to metal fencing, please discuss this with the course tutor prior to application. Candidates must pick only 1 weapon to study.
Please note that candidates under the age of 18 will not be eligible to register as a coach and receive their qualification until they turn 18.
Applications. Applicants should in the first instance send the registration form here with deposit payment payable to South East Region Fencing Union to RLO, 20 Raven’s Dane Close, Downswood, Maidstone, Kent ME15 8XL.
Candidates wishing to attend the coaching course must then complete the application below and return with payment of the full course fee payable to British Fencing to Charlie Miller at [email protected] or by post to the Workforce and Business Development Coordinator, British Fencing, 1 Baron’s Gate, 33-35 Rothschild Road, London W4 5HT.
Full course fee must be paid in order to reverse a place on the course. The deadline for applications is the 1st August 2013.
There must be a sufficient number of candidates on this course to ensure it is viable to run. Weapon(s) with an insufficient number of candidates will be cancelled from the course programme.
Applicants may be self-funding, or part or whole funded by their clubs and/or through their County Sports Partnership (Coach Development Officer) and/or through England Fencing (Development Grants). For more information on Funding please visit the Funding for Coaches page.
