LEVEL 4 (MOCK FIE) FOIL EXAM TO BE HELD ACROSS EDEN CUP WEEKEND

BF is pleased to announce that it will be holding its first level 4 (Mock FIE) exam across the Eden Cup (5-6th November 2022) and Foil U23 Championship weekend since the recent return to fencing.

Vilem Madr (Chez) will be the international assessor for the exam. Vilem holds two FIE licenses and is a FIE senior referee. He has been a member of the EFC Referee Commission since 2017, having originally been involved in the development of the EFC C license. He has refereed at over 40 Senior World Cups, as well as 25 Zonal Championships, 13 World Championships (both in all categories), and the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016. As an EFC delegate, he has been the lead referee at over 25 Cadet Circuits and 5 European Championships. He has also presented more than 21 National and International referee seminars.

The exam will consist of a seminar, written theory exam and video refereeing exam on Saturday 5th November in the afternoon, as well as a practical observation with feedback on Sunday 6th November during the U23 Foil Championships.

The level 4 (Mock FIE) exam is open to everyone holding a full Level 3 Referee certificate and to members of the Referee Pathway Programme.  Those referees who successfully pass this exam and do not wish to develop as an international FIE referee will be awarded a BF National Referee Level 4 certificate.

Full details about the Level 4 exam process, including the sliding fee scale can be found here. British Fencing as part of its return to fencing program is offering a 50% discount to non-pathway referees that wish to sit their level 4 exams

The Level 4 (Mock FIE) entry form can be completed here.

Please note that an up-to-date referee log is required to be uploaded as part of the entry process.
