Following the recent World Championships, which marks the end of the 2014 senior international fencing season, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Pierre Guichot as the new National Sabre Coach for the World Class Programme.
 
Pierre will begin on 2nd September where his first job will be to use his elite coaching experience to develop and implement a training and competition programme capable of producing medal winning athletes by 2020.  This is a critical role for British Fencing as we work towards Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.
 
Pierre has a background in international sabre coaching at the highest level and I am sure his appointment will provide the technical and tactical knowledge to further develop our men’s sabre squad.  I am really looking forward to working with him as we build for the future.
