Nobody’s Metaphor Film screening at the Tate

On Thursday 23rd January in partnership with Maslaha, Stance Podcast and Chouette Films, the premier of Nobody’s Metaphor, a film that follows the experiences of four young women on our Muslim Girls Fence project who, although initially sceptical and somewhat demotivated, throughout the workshops support each other to discover their individual voices, finding the space to express themselves and the tools to confront racism, sexism and islamophobia, will take place at the Tate in London.

The event will run from 6pm – 9pm, with the screening taking place at 7.15pm. The evening will also include drop-in fencing & poetry workshops led by fencing coaches involved with the project and acclaimed poets who harness the power of self-expression, so you can try it for yourself. Further, the film will be followed by a panel discussion with authoritative speakers considering the barriers Muslim girls and women face in accessing sport and the biases of the sector itself.
