NOMINATED FIE SENIOR SATELLITE EVENTS – OPPORTUNITY TO FEEDBACK

Window for coaches and athletes to provide final feedback on the nominated FIE Senior Satellites in the 2025-26 calendar.

Feedback Form Here – feedback before 12 noon, 19th July

The following FIE Satellite events have been provisionally nominated for the upcoming season. Results from these competitions will count towards qualification standards for Junior, U23, and Senior Major Championships.

To see how these events fit into the overall competition season, please visit: COMPETITION CALENDARS FOR GBR SELECTION – BRITISH FENCING

If you have any feedback before these are finalised, please complete this form by noon on 19th July.

Please note that athletes are advised not to make non-refundable travel bookings until the reglements are published, as changes before these are issued are not unusual.

Background/FAQs

Why is BF nominating Satellites? The current FIE Calendar creates affordability challenges for athletes trying to meet qualification standards for major events. In 2024-25, BF started nominating additional events to reduce affordability barriers.

Are these nominated for Juniors? Yes. For more information on the other Junior-nominated events, please refer to this news post.

Are these nominated for U23’s? Yes. Results from these events can be counted towards qualification for the European U23 Championships.

What are the costs? Once the 2025-26 charges are available, these will be published here: GBR CHARGES & FINES – BRITISH FENCING

Athletes attending Satellites nominated for Senior/Junior points will be charged an additional Team Management and Referee fee on top of the standard Administration Fee.

How will selection be managed? Selections will be run as for other nominated events. It is worth noting that there are more people eligible to enter than will be selected. Eligible fencers (see the selection policy here) can still complete a form here to join these events, but please note that the additional charges will be levied on all participants.
