BF is undertaking a referee activity survey to understand the current levels of refereeing throughout its membership, as part of its commitment to support and develop referees of all levels and abilities.

Following the review of the domestic and international referee education processes, BF is now looking at ways to support all existing referees as well as competition organisers during the referee recruitment process. BF has already created a referee recruitment promotion form for competition organisers, which can be found here.

There are currently 657 referees on the Referee Register: some are actively refereeing, while others have not refereed for some time. BF would like to find out who is actively refereeing and also understand the barriers that prevent or reduce referee engagement. This is part of our aim to improve the experience of referees at competitions at all levels (Local, Regional and BF National).

The referee activity survey will also allow members to opt out of the referee mailing list and to be removed from the Referee Register if they no longer wish to be an active referee.
