REPAIR SERVICE CONFIRMED FOR CARDIFF 2024 WHEELCHAIR WORLD CUP

On-site wheelchair repair will be provided by RMA Sport during the 2024 Wheelchair Fencing World Cup in Cardiff.

British Fencing are pleased to announce that RMA Sport will be providing a wheelchair repair service on site at the competition venue in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, during the Wheelchair Fencing World Cup in January 2024.

RMA are a division of ROMA Medical, one of the largest suppliers of mobility equipment in the UK. They have previously worked a major events including the Wheelchair Rugby European Championship, also in Cardiff.

A great deal of stress is put on equipment during each fencing bout and with large number of wheelchair athletes arriving from all around the globe, it is important to have the staff and tools on hand to help out with breakages.

It is unfortunately not uncommon for airlines to not treat wheelchairs with respect either; with this in mind, ROMA staff will be operating all week to help both as athletes arrive and throughout the competition, situated close to the main hall at Sophia Gardens. They will have welding equipment as well as various common spare parts.

If you or someone that you know requires their services during the event, please ask any volunteer who will be happy to help.
