IDENTIFIED SENIOR COMPETITIONS CHANGED TO NON-NOMINATED FOR 21/22 SEASON

Following independent security advice a number of senior competitions have been changed to non-nominated for 21/22 season.

This means that athletes can still travel to these locations if they want to and at their own personal risk, but BF will not send support teams, and nor will any results contribute to the BF rankings.  BF will continue to provide the basic structures as appropriate around selection and entry administration.

The events which will not count towards BF rankings are in the following locations: Algeria, Brazil, Columbia, Mexico, Iran. Competitions in Russia (Moscow & St Petersburg) have been provisionally marked as non-nominated but this will be regularly reviewed as the competitions are not scheduled until much later in the season.

We would strongly recommend that any athletes considering travel to these locations ensure that they take their own independent and expert advice before travelling, have appropriate and extensive travel insurance and follow all FCO advice.  Following that advice, if athletes do decide to still travel, BF may request that they attend a security briefing which must be completed prior to BF entering the athlete.

BF will endeavour to check and monitor countries travel  status and provide updates where applicable.

Additional info added 24/2 – Athletes wishing to enter non-nominated events should consult the GBR calendar, which gives a link to the form for discretionary applications and the date by which it must be submitted for each competition.

If you have any questions relating to this page, suggestions on what we could add or you see any mistakes (!), please submit them to us via the form here and a member of the ADP team will come back to you.
