Congratulations to Adrian Speakman and Daniel Hazlewood who have been selected again by the EFC for their 2022-23 Referee Master List.
The EFC Master list comprises of 79 FIE referees, qualified in at least two weapons, from over 26 countries. It is used to select referees for major European championships, having also been nominated by the national federation for these opportunities.
This is Daniel Hazlewood’s second selection for the EFC Master list. On hearing the news, he said, “I am elated that the EFC have chosen me again for their Master List and am grateful for the support of British Fencing in my international refereeing endeavours.”
Adrian Speakman, who has been selected for the list since its creation in 2018, added, “to be included again in the EFC Master List is wonderful news, and hopefully continues my progression towards the FIE GP circuit. Thank you to British Fencing and our funding partners in their support of myself and all our international referees.”
Nickie Bailey, BF Referee Manager, said, “I am delighted yet again to see the inclusion of Daniel and Adrian in the EFC Master List, both early members of the Referee Pathway Programme. The BF Referee Pathway Programme continues to provide regular developmental opportunities for GBR referees to achieve similar international success.”
