2023-24 STRUCTURED SEASON & IMPORTANT DATES

The 2023-24 structured season continues to be based on a model which is structured around recognised competition windows. Please see below for important dates for your diary.

The model is being published to support competition planning, competition periodisation and to help parents, coaches and fencers select the most appropriate competitions based on target goals, stages of development and actual competition results.

Plans are being put in place by the FIE and EFC for the 2023-24 international season.  Draft EFC information is anticipated by early June.

In the interim, here are some dates for your diary:

British Cadet and Junior Ranking Competitions June 2023-September 2023

Cadet Epee (Men’s and Women’s) B BRC
Date: 24^th – 25^th June 2023
Organiser: Leon Paul
Venue: Leon Paul Fencing Centre, London
Format: TBC –

Junior Epee (Men’s and Women’s) B BRC
Date: 8^th-9^th July 2023
Organiser: Elite Epee Events
Venue: Moulton College
Format: 2 Rounds of Poules followed by DE

Cadet and Junior Foil B BRC (Men’s and Women’s) B BRC
Date: 8th-9th July 2023
Organiser: TMFC
Venue: The Manchester Fencing Centre
Format: 2 Rounds of Poules followed by DE

Cadet All Weapons (Men’s and Women’s) B BRC
Date: 22-23^rd July 2023
Organiser: Welsh Fencing
Venue: Welsh Institute of Sport
Format: 2 Rounds of Poules followed by DE

Junior All Weapons (Men’s and Women’s) A BRC
Date: 2-3^rd September 2023
Venue: Leon Paul Centre (Epee) and Queenswood School, Hertfordshire (Sabre and Foil)
Organiser: Leon Paul and PDFA
Format: 1 Round of poules, 100% promotion
Direct Elimination without repechage to Tableau of 32
Tableau of 32 with placement matches

Cadet and Junior National Championships 2023
Date: 16-17^th September 2023
Organiser: British Fencing
Venue: University of Nottingham
Format: 1 round of poules, with a 10-20% cut, followed by DE.

Cadet All Weapons  (Men’s and Women’s) A BRC
Date: 30^th September – 1^st October 2023
Venue: Leon Paul Centre (Sabre) and RMS Nuffield, Rickmansworth (Foil and Epee)
Organiser: Leon Paul and Fencers Club London
Format: 1 Round of poules, 100% promotion
Direct Elimination without repechage to Tableau of 32
Tableau of 32 with placement matches
