U14 BRITISH OPEN 2024 – UPDATE ON ENTRY CRITERIA

U14 British Open Championships – priority entry currently open for birth years 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 subject to minimum age, on 12th June entries will open to 2010 birth years. 

The U14 British Open Championships will take place on 13-14 July 2024 at EIS Sheffield.

This is an event for all U14 compete licensed members of British Fencing, including fencers not eligible to compete for GBR and international visitors.

Following feedback and requests from the community, 2010 birth year fencers will be able to enter this event, subject to the following:

• Priority entry will be available for 2011,2012, 2013 (and those 2014 birth years who are age 10 on the day of the competition) up to 11th June. On 12th June 2024 entry will be opened to the 2010 fencers at 12 noon (BST).
• 2010 birth year fencers will not receive U14 BF ranking points or U17 BF ranking points.
• As the international U14 season starts to formalise, we expect in future to align the BF domestic U14 season dates and the dates where fencers transition age groups. This may impact future event eligibility.

Entries will close Friday 28th June 17:00 (BST).
