Further to the announcement on 27th June regarding the new FIE sabre rules and subsequent consultation, and in light of the EFC announcement to use the new en-guard position at all U17 sabre circuit events, British Fencing have made the decision to run all U17 sabre BRCs with the new en-guard position (see notice here for further details).
Update 13th July: Apologies to all members – as a result of some additional information coming to light, British Fencing are now contacting the FIE for some further clarification and will be revisiting whether the new rules will be used at U20 and senior level. To confirm though, the new rules will definitely be used for U17 sabre ranking events.
